Well, Limbaugh has, for a long time, been very critical of John McCain saying that he is not conservative enough. While he can be considered a moderate conservative, I definitely would not call him a liberal. He is a bit soft on the torture issue, but try looking up McCain in the Wikipedia and maybe you'll know why (click here to read). While I am a conservative, I really don't have the problems with McCain that others have. I don't see anything wrong with a moderate conservative as long as they don't support abortion (btw, McCain has had some issues in this area, but he is still pro-life) and they are against gay marraige. One thing that Iis a big plus for me about McCain is that he wants to keep our military strong and wants to continue our fight on terrorism. I haven't made a firm decision on my vote yet, however, McCain is in the radar. Romney actually said some things that I liked in the last few days too. I like his family values.
Anyway, back to my original concern... Rush Limbaugh is critizing McCain, but last I checked, he had a problem with being addicted to drugs! So, I don't value his opinion at all. As far as I am concern, that habit of his is just as bad as the left wing loonies who do drugs! Hey Limbaugh... get a life!

It's basically a 2 man race for the GOP nomination and McCain is leading the way. With Super Tuesday coming up, Romney and McCain are positioning themselves for the next 20 states holding their primaries and caucuses. Well, they went at it last night during a GOP debate. It seems the big issue of the debate is whether or not McCain is conservative enough for a Republican nomination. Ok, so I have to admit that Romney has been saying a few things lately for which I strongly agree. I like his stand on family values. He publicly said that our young women should wait for marraige to have children. That is probably unpopular with a lot of people in this country, however, if we look at the stats, we see that single parent families just don't do as well as 2 parent families. He also has a pretty strong stance on illegal immigration. Ok, so yes, he is probably the more conservative of the two.
Now many of you that have read my blogs know that I think that fighting terrorism and stabilizing Iraq is are among the most important issues facing our country. It is no secret that McCain is bullish on these issues. While Romney seems to many to be the "go to" guy with the economy. Yes, our economy is extremely important, however, if we let terrorists attack this country and wreak havoc, the economy is going to go to hell anyway. Many conservatives don't like McCain's stance on illegal immigration. Agreeing to a legal path for long time illegal residents does not sit well with many. He does, however, want to close our borders to prevent future illegal immigration and to protect the United States. I am on the fence with providing a legal path for undocumented aliens. When there are people here that have grown up in the U.S. over 20 years and have been productive despite being undocumented... well, I don't know that we need to send them back. However, if they have been committing crimes, they gotta go!
Ok, so Romney probably made his point about McCain not being an extreme right winger neo-con. Yes, I am a conservative, however, McCain doesn't scare me with his more moderate values. They are all things with which I can live. Actually, I like the fact that he can work both sides of the floor. I just think things get stalled in the Washington D.C. when the parties stubbornly hold their ground based on their idealogies. We need a president that can get things done.
So, is Romney making a smart move by bringing up this issue of who's more conservative. Well, many independents and non-committed voters are watching and when we get down to the General Election, all these independents will take all the trash talk that is being spewed and vote for the looney left (spelled Democrats). I like the fact that McCain's moderately conservative stance appeals to the independents. I believe the independents will be the biggest factor in electing our next president. I think the GOP candidates should cool it and let the Dems self-destruct.

Let's start with Edwards. As of this writing, Edwards has not endorsed anyone and has not made an official announcement about dropping out of the race. He is expected to officially drop out within the hour. However, the writing is on the wall and Democrats are already leaking the information. According to the polls, Edwards' supporters are split between Obama and Hillary should he drop out. If Edwards throws his endorsement to Hillary or Obama, that will have a small impact, however, I think most people will stick to their core values. Edwards is a far left loon and Obama is also far left. While Hillary definitely swings left, I just don't think she is as extreme as Edwards and Obama. Edwards appeals to the low income sector of liberals. Hillary also appeals to the same sector. It can actually be a wash, however, I think the looney left will prevail. So, in my opinion, the majority of Edwards' supporters will go to Obama.
Ok, now for the GOP side of the House. Guiliani is also expected to make his official announcement about dropping out of the race. According to the GOP, he will endorse McCain. This was kind of a no-brainer. He has a tough stand on terrorism. Many of Guliani's followers feel that terrorism should be at the top of the president's list. It is no secret that McCain has a tough stand on terrorism, so endorsement or not, the majority of Guiliani's supporters will go John McCain. Sorry Romney, that's life!

For some reason the National Democratic party has a problem with states that have moved their primary dates up. According to the party, states are prohibited from holding primaries and caucuses prior to Feb 5 (with the exception of states like Iowa, South Carolina, Nevada, New Hampshire and other states that traditionally held their contest prior to Feb 5). So this is basically a repeat of the Michigan Primary (click to read related post). So no matter what the Democratic Florida voters put on their ballots, none of the 57 delegates votes will be taken. Seems like the Democratic party wants to be a dictator for our states. What the heck!!!
Ok, so as in Michigan, Hillary Clinton is going for Florida votes despite the party rules. Why, I guess she, at least, wants to show Florida Democrats that she cares. On the other hand, why is Obama kowtowing to the party rule and not going after the votes in the "bogus" primary. Well, my opinion is that he is a brown nosing, Democratic puppet and feels that the party is way more important than the people of this country.
Now, I won't be voting for Hillary because there are some issues, such as abortion and gay marriage, for which I don't agree, however, I must say that, at least, she has bigging cajones than Obama!

The events leading up to the South Carolina Primary saw Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama trading blows. It got pretty nasty, however, Obama showed Clinton who's boss by taking her to the carpet in South Carolina! So now, beaten and licking her wounds, she has picked herself up and decided to go back to slugging Bush!!! I guess she wised up and realized that she couldn't trade punches with Obama. However, I think she will be swinging in thin air with Bush because he isn't running for president... so who cares!

Romney, who normally eats really healthy meals tells his people that he wants to stop at a local KFC in Florida for lunch. So he sits down and orders the number 3 meal and eats it with a fork and knife. Ok, so this is a big deal because this multi-millionaire is trying to show America that he's a regular guy.
Anyway, I happen to catch the story on Fox News while working out at my local gym this morning. They are actually analyzing Romney and critizing him for eating chicken with a fork and knife. I guess they were trying to point out that he isn't, after all, a regular guy. C'mon guys, I mean, isn't there more important things to cover. Give me a break!

It's a real race to the Florida Primary for John McCain and Mitt Romney. According the current polls, they are in a statiscal dead heat, McCain with 25.6% and Romney with 25% (btw, Guliana is polling at 18%). Could the vets in Florida make a difference? In South Carolina, McCain edged out Huckabee by 3 percentage points. Vets in SC were polled after voting and an overwhelming number of vets said that McCain was their man. Florida has 1.7 million vets. Only California has more. I believe that many vets will go with McCain. I believe they want someone who will let the military finish the job they started. The U.S. has had a tendancy to send troops to conflicts only to pull them out before the job is done. I believe vets are tired of that idealogy. Yes, I think the veterans vote will make a difference in Florida.

Lorraine Allard, 33, of the UK found out she had liver cancer when she was four months pregnant! She had a choice to make... terminate the pregnancy and get treated for the cancer or have the baby! She died two months after having her baby! In my book, she is a hero. There is no greater love. My prayers go out for her family.

According to the polls, McCain and Romney are in a statistical dead heat with Guliani in a fairly close third. Some analysts are saying that Florida vets could give McCain a small boost. What about Guliani? Well, he did not seem to focus seriously on the previous primaries and caucus events. Instead, his strategy was to win big in Florida since they have a large number of delgates. Was this a good strategy? Well, from where I sit, Guliani has to win big in Florida to carry his campaign through the rest of the country. If he loses this primary, he may as well hang it up. I think it is a big mistake for a candidate to minimize his/her campaign efforts in the early states. Those states seem to set up a momentum. Further, I would go after all the delegates that I can get. If he carried other states prior to Florida and he comes in second place in Florida, it could still keep him in the race. Right now, it looks like a do or die situation. I am predicting that he will not win Florida. If he doesn't win it, I wonder where his supporters will go. Well, I will give my opinions on that when he pulls out.

So we all know that Chuck Norris has endorsed Mike Huckabee and has been campaigning for him pretty hard. Well, now Sly Stallone has endorsed John McCain! Looks like a battle of the action heros. Actually, I was kind of surprised that Stallone endorsed a Republican. I thought he was more left of center. Maybe McCain can encourage him to stay off the "juice". Yo John!!!
