A Christian organization in the U.K. is taking on Google over their refusal to allow advertisements about abortion that contain religious content.  When the Christian Institute, a UK registered charity, asked Google for site-targeted advertising, the company refused citing the proposed ad for "inappropriate content". The Institute is suing, saying the refusal constituted discrimination on the grounds of religious belief, a violation of Britain's anti-discrimination laws.

Google told the Institute, "Google policy does not permit the advertisement of websites that contain 'abortion and religion-related content'".  I am a guest blogger for Jesus.Connect.net and the creator of that blog (JesusConnect.net) informed me that he is not using Google ads because of this very policy.

Google does, however, allow pro-abortion ads.  They have allowed ads for abortionists such as Marie Stopes International, that have an AdWord ad that appears when the word "abortion" is typed into the search engine.

Colin Hart, Director of The Christian Institute, said, "Google promotes itself as a company committed to the ideals of free speech and the free exchange of ideas. It is against this standard that Google's anti-religious policy is so unjust."

The looney liberal mayor of San Francisco, Gavin Newsom, and his looney City Supervisor, Tom Ammiano, announced that they have created a public outreach effort to inform illegal immigrants that they can receive services from the city's Public Health and Human Services Departments.  The campaign that promises "safe access to public services" will cost $83,000.  Information will be disseminated in brochures, print and radio ads, on bus shelters, billboards and in public-service announcements on cable television.

So not only do the local taxpayers pay for the ad campaign, but they also have to pay for services given to illegal aliens.  That is a slap in the face for the hard working citizens of that city!  Of course, the loons probably love it!  Again, these will be the same loons that complain that they don't get funding for their other special interests.  Maybe the city will tell them that the money is better spent on illegals.

This is the same city that did not want the military to participate in public events and wants to ban ROTC from it's schools.  So let me get this straight.  They don't like the men and women who fight for our freedom, but they are willing to freely spend taxpayer dollars to provide a safe haven for illegal aliens.  He seems to love the very freedom our military is tasked to protect.

The campaign is needed to counter the “tremendous fear” in the immigrant community spawned by federal immigration law and enforcement raids, said Newsom, who added that he hoped it would “calm people’s fears,” and to prevent people from going “underground” and not reporting crimes, keeping their children from school or seeking routine health care.

Newsom's behavior can only make me feel that he hates America.

Associated Press...

"Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman Mike Gilhooly says the men were in the United States lawfully but because of their convictions they're being deported. He says they were detained Monday and will go before a judge before being sent back to the Dominican Republic."

Fox News reported that former President Carter will be visiting Syria in mid-April.  While Carter's press secretary Deanna Congileo will not confirm any meetings during Carter's stay in Syria, Al-Hayat, an Arabic-Language newspaper reported that Carter will be meeting with Khaled Meshal.  Meshal is the exhiled head of Hamas who directs the terrorist group from Damascus.  Some say that he is responsible for the kidnapping of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.

Ibrahim Hooper, communications director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, says that Carter "has a great amount of credibility in the region...".  Yeah, he has a great amount of credibility because he often sympathizes with the Palestinian terrorists.  He should care more about the security of the American people.  Carter is among the looniest left wingers in America!  Remember, he was the one who sat on his rear-end while Americans were being held hostage in Iran for over a year.  Not until President Reagan took office were the hostages released!

Now Congileo won't confirm any meetings during his trip, so maybe I should give him the benefit of the doubt.  However, if he does meet with this Meshal, then he is legitimizing him and his terror organization.

Am I being too harsh with the former President?  Well, let's see what others are saying.

“It’s about par for the course from President Carter, demonstrating a lack of judgment typical of what he does," said John Bolton, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. "To go to Syria to visit Hamas at this point is just an ill-timed, ill-advised decision on his part.  When you put the prestige of a former president of the United States in a meeting with one of its terrorist leaders, you’re giving it a legitimacy and currency it never had,” said Bolton.

“I’m not surprised that Carter would do this, as he has been supporting Palestinian extremism for many years,” said Steve Emerson, director of the Investigative Project on Terrorism, a watchdog group. “I think this [visit] undermines the U.S. policy of isolating Hamas,” said Emerson. “I think this encourages Europeans to further dilute their sanctions against the Hamas government.”
