We would like to take this opportunity to that Frank Woodruff Buckles for serving his country in the WWI.  Buckles is the last surviving American-born veteran of the war at 107 years old.  Buckles was so eager to serve his country that he lied about his age and enlisted at the age of 15.  He served in the U.S., the United Kingdom, Germany and France.  He was recently honored in the White House.  "Mr. Buckles has a vivid recollection of historic times," Bush said. "And one way for me to honor the service of those who wear the uniform in the past and those who wear it today is to herald you, sir, and to thank you very much for your patriotism and your love for America."

World War I Vet Frank Buckles
Thank you for your service and patriotism, Mr. Buckles.
